About Boswell

Boswell is a small picturesque lakeside resort. Located south of Lockhart Beach Park, on the east shore of the south arm of Kootenay Lake, Boswell offers visitors easy access to Lockhart Beach Provincial Park.

Boswell also offers anglers the opportunity to fish for Rainbow trout, which are in abundance in Lockhart Creek. Boswell holds it's annual Fishing Derby mid June - a must for all keen anglers.

For golf enthusiasts there is an 18 hole championship golf course located at Kokanee Springs Golf Resort in Crawford Bay, and 2 golf courses in Creston the Creston Golf Club, and Canyon Heights Golf Course.

Places to see

Glass House
The famous Glass House in Boswell is constructed from half a million empty embalming fluid bottles. Construction began on the house in 1952 when the late David Brown retired after thirty five years in the funeral business. He travelled western Canada collecting bottles from friends in the funeral profession to add to his own collection. The half a million of the square shaped bottles weigh 250 tons.

Lockhart Beach Provincial Park
Lockhart Beach Provincial Park is a beautifully forested park which has a hiking trail along Lockhart Creek, a beautiful sandy beach and a picnic facilities.

Getting There

By Car
Boswell is situated on Highway 3A about 38 km (24 miles) south of the eastern terminal of the Kootenay Lake ferry at Kootenay Bay, and 44 km ( 27 miles) north of Creston.
