About Skipton
Skipton is a small country town located on the Glenelg Highway about 165 km west of Melbourne. A visit to this lovely village is like stepping back in time.
Skipton was named after a town in Yorkshire, England and means sheep town, which is quite apt as it is a major sales centre for wool.
