Milawa is a small village located in the Victorian High Country between the lower Ovens and King Rivers. It is ideally located to take in the King Valley
Glenrowan, Rutherglen, and Beechworth.
Milawa is Australia's first gourmet region, starting in 1994. The Milawa
gourmet region is home to numerous food producers plus several of Victoria's
leading wineries. A Producers Market is held 4 times a year and features all
the local gourmet products.
Enjoy riding a bike around the local roads to explore all the small producers and villages. A map is available from the local visitor Information Centre.

The Milawa Cheese Company
The Milawa Cheese Company is a small, highly regarded speciality cheese factory. All the cheeses are hand made at the historic Milawa Butter Factory using traditional methods, without preservatives and using non-animal rennet. The Cheese Tasting Room is open 7 days a week and offers a unique opportunity to taste the full range of cheeses and preserves from the local gourmet region.
Milawa Mustards was established in 1982. The mustards are handmade on the property, Old Emu Inn in the centre of Milawa, by the owners. As well as the mustards you can also purchase seasonal pastes, jellies, jams, chutneys, marmalades and salad dressings.
Wineries and Vineyards
Milawa is well known for its vineyards which open their cellar doors for tasting. Meet the winemakers and their families as you tour authentic wineries including Brown Brothers Milawa Vineyard, Ciccone Wines, Chrismont Wines, Rose Hill Estate Wines, Wood Park Wines.
