About Port Sorell
This peaceful holiday retreat located on the Bass Highway about 120km north of Launceston is a boating and fishing enthusiasts haven. Port Sorell is a small town comprising a few shops and a few holiday homes amongst the sand dunes. This is the ideal holiday destination for families to escape the computer games and get back to the real world and have some fun together. Take the children beach combing, collect shells along the tide line and enjoy the fresh air.
Port Sorell offers holiday seekers walks along the beaches as well as the nearby Asbestos National Park. There is fabulous fishing on offer as well as a wide range of water activities.
Port Sorell is the oldest European settlement on Tasmania's north coast. Unfortunately most of Port Sorell's early history was wiped out by bushfires.
