Aldinga Beach is an attractive beach
and holiday resort conveniently located on the Gulf
of St Vincent about 1 hour from Adelaide and 1 hour
from Victor Harbour and the Kangaroo Island Ferry.
The area is well known for its beautiful
wide sandy beaches, ideal for swimming and fishing.
A stroll along the boardwalk provides great vantage
points for admiring the stunning coastal scenery.
Scuba diving is popular at Aldinga
Beach with a unique Aquatic Reserve situated here.
The reserve was established to protect a rare reef
formation. There are spectacular drop offs, underwater
cliffs and caves to explore as well as other features
including soft corals and large schools of snapper.
For the bush walker there is a series
of interesting walks through the Aldinga Scrub Conservation
Park and local Wetlands.
Beaches, swimming, boat-launching facilities,
aquatic reserve for scuba diving, restaurants.
The area has a Mediterranean style
climate with an annual rainfall of approximately
500mm or 20 inches. The majority of rain is received
from May to September.
