Cooma offers a wide range of accommodation
to suit your winter ski and snowboard holiday in
the NSW snowy mountains or
summer trout fishing on Lake Eucumbene or Lake Jindabyne,
bush walking and mountain biking vacation accommodation
needs. Cooma accommodation is ideally suited to budget
and family ski holidays.
Cooma is situated at the gateway to
the Snowy Mountains and services all the NSW ski
and snowboard resorts including Thredbo, Perisher
Blue and Selwyn Snowfields. It is the perfect
base for either summer or winter holidays.
Cooma was an integral part of the Snowy
Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme providing accommodation
and facilities for workers on the Snowy Hyrdo Scheme.
From Cooma you can drive to either Thredbo, Perisher
Blue or Selwyn Snowfields for an excellent
range of snow sports including downhill skiing,
snow boarding, tobogganing, cross country skiing
and snow shoeing.
Lake Jindabyne and lake Eucumbene are
both just a short drive and offer a wide range of
activities including trout fishing, sailing and windsurfing.
As well as the water sports Cooma provides access
to mountain biking, bush walking and horse riding.
Cooma is a well serviced town with
a variety of restaurants,bars, shops, supermarket
and a cinema.
Other facilities include a hospital,
several churches, banks, hair dresser and childcare.
A wide range of accommodation is on
offer in Cooma including caravan parks, bed and breakfasts,
lodges, chalets and motel accommodation.
The climate can vary greatly in a single
day.

Cooma is easily accessed by air, road,
and coach.
Most people travel by car as this
is the most flexible way of exploring the mountains.
Regular bus services are available
and there is an airport located just outside of Cooma.
Regular air services are available to Cooma with
Rex.
There is a daily fee for vehicles
using Kosciuszko National Park. During winter some
roads are closed due to snow and others may require
the carrying of snow chains which are available for
hire.
